We spend so much time at work, so we need to make sure we keep our health in check there too!
Here are 6 tips to help you stay healthy while at work:
💡 Keep moving ~ try to walk around every couple of hours and get away from your screen, don't park your car too close to the office to get a few more steps in.
💡 Take breaks ~ have you heard of the 20-20-20 rule? Every 20 minutes looking at a screen, try looking away at something 20 feet away from you for at least 20 seconds. That’s for your eyes.
You should also take a break to manage your stress levels every few hours. Have a snack, talk to a colleague, do some stretching!
💡 Fix your ergonomics ~ this is about improving your workstation setup to limit body strain and make you more comfortable. Sit close to the desk with your upper arms parallel to your spine, ensure your legs are bent at a 90 degree angle at the knees, dont sit too high to make sure your feet rest comfortably on the ground, try lifting your screen to avoid neck and back strain.
💡 Hydrate ~ keep a water bottle close to you at all times as a reminder to drink.
💡 Find a friend ~ researchers have been encouraging the idea of having a good friend at work to boost performance, morale and overall productivity!
💡 Eat Clean ~ it can’t be easy to plan every meal of the week when you’re working a 9 to 6 job. Bring your meals with you to work to help you stay on track, instead of grabbing the easiest and fastest meal you can find, which would most times be unhealthy.
